Leveling up the documentary film in South East Asia
In-Docs is an international NGO dedicated to creating a supportive environment for documentary filmmakers. In collaboration with BEKRAF, In-Docs has established a documentary film event called Docs By The Sea, which takes place in Southeast Asia. This event aims to facilitate international co-productions, broadcast commissions, funding opportunities, distribution, festival selections, and connections to larger global documentary film associations.
Creating documentary films requires significant time and funding. The primary goal of this event is to elevate the quality of documentary films by connecting filmmakers with mentors and funders. In line with their brand, they host an annual event by the sea. The "SEA" in their logo also stands for Southeast Asia.
The design features the letter "S" shaped like waves, representing growth and the event's goal of enhancing the quality of documentary films. The two connected "S" letters and the "Y" in the middle symbolize the event as a meeting point for filmmakers, producers, and funders. The letter "O," highlighted in orange, represents both the lens and projector—two essential elements in filmmaking. All design elements and color combinations work harmoniously to convey the essence of the event at a glance.
We are responsible for creating the event’s brand identity, visual communication, logo, website, and social media presence, as well as guidelines, banners, souvenirs, event books, and merchandise. The website is particularly important as it serves as the main portal for online film submissions. We ensure that the website is regularly updated and refreshed with each event.
